If you live in Texas, you can disregard this post

It's HOT!
New England homes are not built with air conditioning.
We typically grin and bear it through about two weeks of heat and humidity each summer, and pat ourselves on the back for being so hardy.  Here we are, on day three of our heat wave, and I'm feeling VERY grateful for this:
It's not central air, but we have been centering our activities around it.
This morning I rallied the troops, and out to the garden we went to pick weeds together.
I heard Enrique groan when he stepped out of the front door, and then he exclaimed
"I think I just saw a tumbleweed!"
It's hot.
We really have nothing to complain about.
Yesterday afternoon we were driving to music lessons, and we passed an old farmhouse with several people sitting out on the front porch fanning themselves.  I wanted to stop and ask permission to take their picture, but I felt shy and kept driving.
At least we have options for staying cool.

was it my farm house you drove by?
You can always take my picture.
I'm saving up my $$$, that way I can pay to have someone fan me as I sit on my porch ;-)

I'm one of the lucky New Englanders with central air. Hope you don't hate me.

I'm from Texas. I do not disregard this post. It's hard to live in the heat! And Texans don't really do it. Pretty much everybody has central air; that's how Texans (and Arizonans and New Mexicans and on and on and on) survive.

My air conditioner (in my brand new house) is broken. Thankfully a guy is coming to fix it today! Also, the high yesterday was only 97.

In raleigh the central air turns on in April and doesn't go off till October. This was warm for a few days. Glad you have at least a wall unit though, even a few days can be terrible with nothing.
