It was a SUPER Tuesday

I did my part and VOTED.
*
Also, to make the day even more super, we celebrated
the 100th birthday of the OREO cookie.
100 years!
I tip my hat to you Nabisco.
As much as I joke about the nasty
(high oleic oil that makes for greater heat tolerance and longer shelf life... translation: they've been mummified) filling, there's just something about an oreo that kids love.
After school we played OREO checkers.
When a player captured an opponent's piece, it was eaten.
To win you had to move four cookies to the opposite side of the board.  No kings, no crowns.  Just oreos and the taste of victory.

They waited around for extra chances to play the winner of each match.
With cookies on the line, the kids got serious.
Turning 100 is a BIG deal.
I probably would have suggested eating 100 oreos, but I know my stomach rebels after about five.
(I can't sit in front of a package of oreos and not be tempted to eat a whole row.  I can't.)
I know there are more of you out there who feel the same way.
Join me.
Do your part.
Pay tribute to a cookie that just turned 100.
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY OREOS!

This is just so awesome. Seriously, your kids probably have no idea how lucky they are to have you for a mom!

I LOVE Oreos. One time I was in Illinois visiting a friend with two boys--he was a single Dad. I showed the boys how to eat an oreo. The Dad said, "don't eat the cookie that way". The reply was, "Shirley told us that's the only way to eat an Oreo". Well he didn't like it and I told him that he took all the fun out of being a kid. I still separate them, eat the frosting first and then the cookie! Love the idea of Oreo checkers, too! Great way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Oreo cookie. Years ago, I also had them fed to me. I was laughing so hard it is a wonder I didn't choke on them. Long story and fun times.
