I spent some time at the pool on Friday with this woman. A little known fact about her: She was a member of the women's synchronized swim team at Simmons College many moons ago.
She could teach these young beauties a thing or two about the work behind true poise and beauty in the water.

Actually, she teaches daily, many important things that have nothing to do with aquatics. She is an influence in my life. I am SO thankful for that. There are MANY great women who influence me. I was thinking about the women with whom I have relationships, whether at church, at home, in the community, extended family, in the blogging world, the mothers of my childrens' friends... I am thankful for so many. There is an empowerment in having strong women friends, role models, mentors and acquaintances.
To quote Gordon B. Hinckley, "How thankful I am, how thankful we all must be, for the women in our lives."

Wish I could've been there. I LOVE seeing mom in the pool doing her synchronized swimming. We are SO lucky to have her in our lives. :) xoxo
I've never seen her swim like that. Three of her granddaughters were at the family cookout today and they were like fish in the water. They loved it! They even swam out to the raft with cousin Mark Civilinski. Must have been those lessons at the pool!!
SO fun! Thanks for the pictures!
Ditto!
I LOVE this post. I have not seen Mom swim for years. She looks like she's in her thirties! I have so many fond memories of swimming with mom in the pool and asking her to rescue me :) And look at all those girl cousins. Meg would think she'd died and gone to heaven.
