Pinewood Derby

Morning Boy decided he wanted to make his "car" a skateboard for the pinewood derby.
His dad took care of fine tuning the wheels and helping with the weight.
On race day the skateboard weighed in at a perfect five ounces.
("YES!")
 I love this cub scout.
He is cheerful.
(and wears his uniform with pride)
There were DOZENS of cars at the derby.
The competition was stiff.
It was an exciting day.
Watching the races was fun--
especially surrounded by friends.
 The skateboard wasn't the fastest...
But it was still an exciting day.

I'm kind of sad your pack doesn't let the boys do the racing! That is a very cool car!

He is certainly happy and enjoying the race. He's really growing up very fast.
