For Christmas, Rooney got tickets to see "Wicked" on Broadway.
Of course you can't send a 12 year old to the Big Apple alone;
and someone had to be the driver...
She and I spent a whirlwind weekend together in New York City making some fun memories.
It was her inaugural visit to Times Square, and she LOVED it!
We wandered, shopped, ate and explored.
We found the Panama flag at Rockefeller Plaza!
Then we enjoyed the views from Top of the Rock:
we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
...and 5th Avenue!
We were only brave enough to go into a few of the lower-end shops;
I was somewhat fearful that one of the doormen might take my daughter as collateral.
It was a FAST day--so much to see, and so little time.
It was CHILLY!
And "WICKED" was AMAZING.

WICKED is amazing....and NYC just makes it all the better.
So fun! I love broadway plays. That's a great present. I would do that for my boys if we were closer. She'll never forget.
Anthropologie! You've got good taste:) Looks like a blast! What I wouldn't have done to have my mom to myself in NYC!
Jealous, that sounds like a great trip.
Glad you had such an awesome time!Looks like Rooney had a blast for herself. You certainly covered a lot of territory.
LOVELY! The pictures are fantastic and she'll remember this Christmas present over most as the years go by. Two thumbs up! xo
You are such a cool mom.
Oh so fun!!! How far are you from NYC? We were able to see Wicked there in 2009. Can't wait to go back. Eric wants to know Mr. Panamas address or if he can email. Want to see if he can locate some of his families from his mission there.
Look like an incredible day!!!! How great to spend that time with your daughter one on one!!!
Awesome weekend, awesome show and awesome mom.
