Taking Care of BUSINESS:

It was a weekend of LUXURIOUS leisure.

...sleeping, strolling, driving through beautiful landscapes, reading, shopping and RESTING.
All.By.Myself.
Thanks a MILLION, Mr. Dub!

Random [business] thoughts in my head:

I love my husband.
This is perfect.
Maybe I'll just climb in bed NOW.
Who needs food when there is a shower, a bed and NO WORRIES?
Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
...and...
"Maybe I'll just ENJOY my business trip and not rush home."

Leaving on a BUSINESS TRIP

A few weeks ago I was talking on the phone to Dub.
It was the end of his work day, and he was standing on the beach in Florida.
He asked me if I could hear the surf through the phone.
*Sigh*
I told him I wanted to go away on a business trip.

GUESS WHAT?!?
I asked, he DELIVERED.
This afternoon he is going to meet me on the beach.
He'll be working at the temple all morning, and the kids and I will be playing in the surf.
THEN...
He's going to hand me a folder, a map and the keys to the car.
I'm going to "hand" him the kids and the keys to the van.
And I'll be OFF!  On my first-ever business trip.
ALONE.
He's going to pick up where I leave off, and be the Man Mom of the house while I'm away on business.
(Is he the best-ever, or WHAT?!)
Destination?  Unknown.
He's put together a surprise weekend for ME.
I don't come back until later on Sunday.
I can't wait to take care of some business.
I love that man.

I'm still around...

Just not blogging right now so much.
There will be LOTS to report!  I promise.
And there is plenty of goings-on.
I miss you!

takin' it up a notch

Settlers of Catan wins hands-down for the most-played game in our house.
Game-playing standards were broken when the youngest family member, age 5, not only learned HOW to play the game, but has mastered it and even claimed victory more than once.
A couple of weeks ago I was on Catan-overdose.  "NO MORE SETTLERS!" I announced after a marathon game that wore my nerves to a frazzle.  I've since recovered, and this afternoon when the cry of "Let's play a game!" went out, I knew what the popular choice would be.  I was almost sure I could handle it.
Just to make things interesting, (and to preserve my sense of dignity and patience) I suggested "Let's play speed Catan!"  You've heard of speed chess... same concept.  Once the dice are rolled and resources are distributed, you have 60 seconds to complete your turn.  Simple.  Everyone agreed.

Success~!
It didn't last all day and night, and there was a renewed sense of competition.  When the winner was declared, we all happily put the pieces away and did't feel a sense of foreboding doom lest someone feel the urge to play the game within, say, the next 48 hours.
