gardening in Fall

I pulled the last of the tomatoes from the garden,
 stowed away the stakes
and stepped back to admire what was left, before Old Man Winter takes the frosty bite that we know is coming.
Good-bye, Summer.
WELCOME! Fall.

  1. I'd like to come over and swipe some green tomatoes so I can have fried green tomatoes. I haven't had them in years. (It's one of my motivations to get on the ball and do a garden next year!)

  2. I have a few of my cherry tomatoes left. Picked them and they are in a dish on the kitchen table. Will eat them tonight. Fall came too quickly. My dinner plate dahlias are just blooming! A bit late, don't you think? I should have planted them earlier.
