One GOOD thing.

As per my commitment to MY LIST and more importantly to the 12-week 2010 Resolutionary Challenge,  I will divulge to you the hardest part of the RC list of things I try to accomplish each day:

#6.  Savor up to ONE small treat per day.

I am an addict to all things sweet and especially chocolate.  I have been known to hoarde treats in multiple top-secret hiding places in my home; I feel the need to be prepared for whatever life throws at me, and take refuge from the storm, so-to-speak.  We Resolutionaries are now in week seven, and I will tell you that if I have not scored all ten points on any given day, it's most likely due to the fact that I found chocolate in my mouth, and don't even know how it got there.
And now this:

Aaahhh...
*sigh*
...you
precious
little
friend
of dark
chocolate
coconutty
bliss.
I love you so.

Looking Ahead

I sat and planned out my garden this morning, as the snow flurries swirled outside my window...  it's got to be genetic.  I'm looking forward to getting some dirt under my fingernails.  In the spirit of growing things, here is some musical goodness for you.  If this jam session was happening nearby, it would make the hairs on my arms stand up on end to sit in on it.

Saying Good-Bye

Tonight are the calling hours for a dear friend who passed away last week. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. She was my visiting teacher for a few years. She was a loyal friend.

Rock Candy Rock(s)

About 10 days ago, we began the experiment that I have to admit, I thought might not turn out so well.
But VOILA! Five pieces of bonified rock candy emerged from the crystallized mason jars and various glass containers we used to grow the sugar. Let it be written that it CAN be done. There were more petrified crystals stuck to the bottoms and sides of the jars than actually grew on the string, but a quick rinse and lengthy soak proved that the jars were not ruined. Sugar melts.
The challenge now, will be to keep all five pieces of rock candy from getting ingested by the same enthusiastic rock-candy-wizard.
Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

He loves me

and has "smart hands."
I asked Dub to make me a frame out of a tree--since our family picture was taken on the log pile this year, I thought a more rustic looking frame would be cool.
I asked, he delivered.
Isn't it so awesome?

Girl Power!

I LOVE my girls...
We had a fun Girls-Only-Weekend.
We stopped at the temple.
I told them I'm grateful for my eternal relationship with them
(I truly am)
We went SHOPPING!
We drove through the city,
admired the architecture,
laughed at Gertie (our GPS), who thought Boston Children's Hospital was the Science Museum
Got the keys locked in the car at the mall parking garage
and made friends with garage security; we even got a ride in their flashing golf cart -
Finally made it to the museum,
only to find out that Harry Potter the Exhibition was sold out until tomorrow.
We wandered around some of the exhibits,
made all the boy moose go
"WAH!"

Dinner here:
and of course, MORE shopping!
Our first-class overnight accomodations in a VERY cool condo
included sewing coin purses, having nails painted and playing games with our own local celebrity
followed by an early morning return to see the fabulous Harry Potter Exhibition, which was WELL worth the wait for all of us eager fans of the wizarding world.  It was a GREAT female bonding adventure.

Two-bing

The morning after.
Snow yesterday, bright winter skies today.
Perfect for a morning of TUBING!

This one's my favorite: Driver becomes wingman.

This was funny too; smoked on the tubing run by a bunch of girls.

Nashoba Valley is a great place to tube.
You ride up, you ride down.
Get there early.
We had a great morning.
By the time we were leaving,
the line to get tickets was at least an hour wait
and snaked around the parking lot.

Hooray for winter!

BEST part of winter

The SNOW!
Nothing like a fresh coat of snow to brighten the day...
