Good for you. I love breaking out the sewing machine, just don't like the mess the mess that seems to gather around as I ignore everthing else around me until the project is done.
My machine is open. I had to mend an item and I just never put it back. Of course, it is in a cabinet in the den, so all I have to do is put it down inside the cabinet and cover it. I've left it open to give me incentive to finish some projects that are sitting next to it. Eventually it will happen. Have fun making whatever you are going to make. Love the picture!
So I'm making bedspreads for two of our girls... and an extra 'surprise' project that I can't mention here, because I have blog followers who might find out too early! :) I do enjoy sewing--but it does manage to take up most of my time when I'm doing it, so the balance between dishes, meals, taxi-ing, blogging and the rest becomes a delicate one! I'll give you a full report when I'm done!
